TWIN JET ELECTROPOLISHER TEM-JP250-1

TWIN JET ELECTROPOLISHER TEM-JP250-1

The Twin-Jet Electropolisher TEM-JP250-1 is used for producing high quality thin foils of conductive materials. It is robust, compact, economical and easy to use system. The electrolyte tank, sample holder, thinning cell and tank base stand are machined from polymers compatible with all electrolyte solutions to provide maximum resistance to corrosive electrolytes.

  • Used for producing high quality conductive TEM specimen of 3 mm diameter of maximum thickness 150 micron
  • Additionally, holder to hold 1.5 mm diameter sample is optionally available
  • System consists of electrolyte tank, specimen holder, thinning cell and tank base
  • The thinning cell is contained in an electrolyte tank that press fits into a base stand specially designed to collect drips of electrolyte
  • An additional electrolyte tank is provided for washing the cell after use
  • Electrolyte is pumped from the tank using a 12V DC motor driven impeller to impinge jets on the specimen from both sides
  • A light source and photocell detector detects perforation in the specimen to terminate the electropolishing process
  • Specimen is held in a specially designed holder to ensure sturdy rim of the specimen for ease of handling
  • The electrolyte can be cooled using an immersed cooling coil through which liquid nitrogen can be delivered from a modified Dewar flask, MDF-2.2L, temperature of which is displayed on the touchscreen HMI
  • System can incorporate different types of electrolytes depending on the specimen material
  • Hazards associated with the use of inflammable/corrosive electrolytes and their disposals are reduced by the low volume of electrolyte
  • DC power supply of 0-200 V, 0-150 mA and control electronics housed in separate cabinet delivers the potential to the electrodes
  • Control of the electrolyte flow rate
  • Control of the DC voltage to the electrodes
  • Detection of perforation followed by automatic cessation of electrolyte flow and DC current
  • Audio-visual alarm as soon as perforation is detected
  • Real time graphical display of current versus time from process start
  • Display of actual thinning time up to 999 seconds
  • PLC with 7" inch touch screen HMI
  • Provision to store 500 recipes of various samples with their respective data such as material name, time, temperature, sensitivity, flow rate for future reference
  • Perchloric Acid
  • Nitric Acid
  • Pure Lab Grade Methanol
  • Ethanol
